Erlic hails from the Kingdom of Ardenthal, a world where magic is a privilege and not a birthright. The mage guilds who govern the realm decide who has access to arcane power. Those that rebel against their laws are persecuted. A brilliant but arrogant prodigy within the Stormkeep, Erlic rebelled against their rigid dogma, thinking that magic should be wielded alongside steel, not trapped within dusty tomes.
Stamped as a renegade sorcerer, he was condemned by his peers to eternally fight on the Athelan Battlegrounds. Given no choice in the matter, Erlic chose to master his concept of elemental swordplay, meshing swordsmanship with the power of nature. He now fights to inscribe his legacy upon the world of magic.
