Ryker was once a decorated officer of the Chrono Division, an elite corps that patrolled the timestream and prevented criminals from disrupting timelines. He was one of the best; a methodical hunter who could predict his target's moves before they made them.
But his fame made him a target. Ryker had no affiliation to any planet, he was a company man. This made it difficult for Athelan recruiters to go through normal channels to get him inducted as a fighter. Instead, they turned toward the Chrono company and had him charged with a time crime. He was exiled to Earth in the 21st century, his link with the timestream broken and left to survive on his own. Ryker knew something was off. The charges against him were vague at best, the evidence clearly manufactured and the tribunal far too eager to cast him out. He had hunted down enough time criminals to recognize a setup. This one reeked of big money.
Stranded in a primitive era he began to investigate. Murmurs on human radio channels about alien contact, a cosmic police, a battleground... It didn't take long for him to recognize the tell tale signs of the Athelan Battlegrounds. When the recruiters came knocking, Ryker didn't resist. He had a plan and this was step one.
Now bound to the battlegrounds, he plays along, biding his time. Every day is a new opportunity to study the infrastructure, identifying its weak points. It won't be long before he regains access to the timestream and there will be hell to pay when that happens.
